The location

Frangokastello sits on a flat coastal plain between the White Mountains and the Libyan Sea. The Venetian castle is within walking distance. The beach is long, sandy and relatively quiet compared to north coast beaches of the same size.

The nearest village for supplies is Patsianos, about 2 km away. Sfakia is about 15 km to the west. The mountain road to Chania takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.
